This was one of ACE’s first attempts at walking.  He loves zipping back and forth between Ryan and I.  He runs full speed ahead screaming and giggling in excitement.  I can’t believe how quickly he is growing up.  Time goes by so fast.

So, as some of you know I was in the hospital in December for abdominal pain.  They told me that my pain was due to an intestinal blockage and IBS.  Well, I continued to have a lot of problems and pain in the abdomen even after the blockage was supposedly cleared out after having a colonoscopy.  My IBS has been under control and no problems in that area for quite some time.  On Monday I went to my general doctor and to my gastroenterologist for the continued pain.  They really weren’t sure what was going on.  My general doctor thought it could be my gallbladder, my gastroenterologist thought I pulled a muscle in my abdomen. He wanted me to heat, ice and take some muscle relaxers and see if my pain improved.

Tuesday rolls around and I am racing around getting ready for my auditions.  I decided to put the heating pad on the right front side of my abdomen just as the doctor has recommended.  I had it on for about 5 minutes and stood up to go to the bathroom when BAM…holy hell…the most excruciating pain.  I was screaming crying in pain and I could move.  I felt like I was going to vomit.  Thank goodness my husband was working from home that day.  He immediately rushed my over to the hospital.

Once again the doctors seemed unsure as to what was causing my pain.  They thought it might be an ovarian cyst that ruptured and was bleeding.  I went in for an ultrasound of my ovaries.  The ultrasound didn’t show any problems, my ovaries looked good.  Then I had to drink this horrible contrast and get a CT Scan to take a look at my appendix, gallbladder, etc.  Once again the doctors tell me we can’t find you appendix on the CT Scan, this was the same thing they told me in December.  The doctors examined me again and then brought in a surgeon to examine me.  They said that all my pain was showing that I needed my appendix removed, but they were still unsure since it didn’t show up in the scan.  They gave me two options:  Continue to be watched for the next 24 hrs. and be put on antibiotics or go in for surgery immediately.  I picked surgery.  I knew that it was my appendix.

I was immediately hurried off to surgery.  When I woke up they informed my that my appendix was at the early stages of going bad and removed it.  They also found 2 ovarian cysts  and removed them and sent them off for biopsy.

So, it’s now Thursday and I am back home trying my best to rest and recover.  Although I am in pain from my surgery, I am not in pain anymore in from my appendix.  Thank goodness.

We have started teaching ACE some independence this week.  We have stopped rocking him and holding him until he falls asleep and  have begun to teach him to fall asleep for naps and at bedtime on his own.  It is definitely a loud process with lots of screaming and crying.  I know in the long run it will benefit him.  It is just so hard to hear your baby upset and not be able to comfort him.  Also, we are teaching Addison how to feed himself with his bottle or sippy cup.  He is doing really great with this.  I am very impressed with how quickly he has learned and transition to drinking all by himself.  Not bad for being 9 months old.

Gosh, I really do love living at the beach.  I promised myself that I would take full advantage of where we live and be sure that Addison developed the same love for the beach.  We spent a wonderful Saturday afternoon at the beach.  ACE really enjoyed crawling through the sand as it sprayed up behind him.  He love picking up clumps of sand and tossing it around.  The ocean was a a little chilly that day, but we did dip our feet in.  I can’t wait till this summer when we can swim and frolic in the ocean.  ACE played his little heart out until he finally passed out in his Sundome. We are looking forward to our next adventure.

Last weekend was Ryan’s Birthday.  We spent the evening with a few of our close friends at the W Hotel for dinner.  Addison came along with us.  He was a perfect little angel.  He ate he dinner while we enjoyed in some appetizers and then he passed out for the evening in his stroller.  The ACE man hung out and slept for a good few hours while we enjoyed in the company of our friends.  We finished the evening out on the beach with a Champagne toast to Ryan’s Birthday.  Many thanks to Christina, Attila and Sarah for making this evening so special for Ryan.

I just saw the new Original Marines Spring 2011 Ad Campaign and Catalog.  Addison modeled for them back in November at just 5 months old.  I hadn’t heard of the company before Addison worked with them, but I must say I am huge fan now.  Their clothes are so soft and cute.  Here are a few images of the ACE man.

The ACE man booked two great modeling gigs lately.  He just finished working for Carter’s and American Baby Magazine.  Keep an eye out in your local Carter’s stores and online for Addison.  He should be featured sometime soon.  New store advertisements come out every Tuesday.  If you happen to see him, please let me know.  I believe he was wearing a gray onesie and is with another little baby girl with dark hair.  As for American Baby Magazine, he should be in the May issue as an editorial.  I am not sure if they were shooting the cover shot that day.  Here are a few behind the scenes images.
