Workout Update

So, I have been going to the gym for about 2 weeks now.  Ryan and I alternate morning workouts, while the other person stays at home with Addison.  Let me tell you this is the best thing we could have done for ourselves.  Starting out the morning with the workout has helped so much with our energy level and self esteem.  It’s also nice to have an hour of “Me Time” as well.  I am able to completely zone out and focus on myself.  I think it is important to find the time to do this.  I really think this helps keep me happy, positive and energized throughout the day.  Although I am not quite back to my prepregnancy body I am already starting to see improvement on my figure.  This definitely gives the motivation to keep up with my workout, especially on those days that I would rather stay in bed for an extra hour.

(2 months after giving birth to Addison)

To all of my pregnant girls out there: Forever 21 has a new Maternity clothing line.  So cute!  I wish they had this while I was pregnant.

Baby Bump Update: Canceling my Induction….

I had a Nonstress Test and Biosphysical Profile done on Tuesday.  The test results came back perfect again!  Woohoo, a 10 out of 10!

Today I had a check up at the OBGYN with another doctor.  My doctor has been on vacation since Monday and returns next week on Monday.  I am still not dilated and ACE is still up high.  My doctor had scheduled me to be induced on Monday, June 7th when she returns from vacation.  I have decided to cancel the induction scheduled for that morning and schedule a check up with her to discuss my options.  Maybe I will get lucky and be dilated for my appointment with her.

Obviously ACE is not ready to come out and meet us.  There is no reason why I can’t wait until 42 weeks to be induced.  My gut instinct tells me that he will arrive on his own by then.  I have worked really had to have a healthy pregnancy and have been very fortunate thus far.  ACE has been and is still perfectly positioned for a natural vaginal delivery.  I refuse to give into what maybe a convenient option for my doctor.  If I were to be induced before I am dilated there is a high possibility that my labor could result in a C-section.  I am not cool with that.  Especially when the number of C-sections are higher than they have ever been and many of them may not be necessary.

So, I am going to continue to be patient on waiting for ACE’s arrival!  Hey, he may even decide to show up on my birthday: June 10th.

40 weeks Pregnant! Today is Addison’s due date!
I guess he is very happy in my belly and doesn’t want to leave.
I have until June 7th to go into labor on my own…if not then my doctor will be inducing me that morning.

Bump Update: 37 weeks and a few days
I went to the OBGYN this morning and Addison still seems to be head down, although he is up high and hasn’t seemed to have dropped much.  I guess he is enjoying the little home inside of my belly.
I am not effaced or dilated at this time.  My doctor has suggested that I have an ultrasound next week to just check on Addison and see if he is really moving in the right direction for birth.
As for my weight gain at this point…I decided to start eating a little more healthy again and stop giving into every craving that I have.  The major thing I stopped eating was french fries. I had no idea that would make such a big impact on my weight gain or should I say loss.  I lost a few pounds…so my weight gain is at 21 lbs. now
Cool coincidence, my Mom’s original due date with me was May 30th and my due date with Addison is May 28th.  The doctor then changed my Mom’s due date with me to June 7th, but I actually arrived on June 10th.  I am interested to see if the same thing happens with my due date with Addison.

I have my big appointment on Monday to check the position of Addison and to see if I am effaced or dilated at all.

From here on out I am on weekly appointments with my OBGYN…the countdown begins!

A few things I never expected during pregnancy…

  • My belly now enters the room before I do…Ryan seems to find this funny and cute
  • Shaving has become quite difficult…some days you just have to say screw it
  • It is way to hard to bend of and polish my own toes now, time to leave it up to the professionals
  • I get so winded doing simple tasks now…Where are my lungs?  Can someone please return them to me
  • What’s up with this new layer of fat that has now found it’s place on my body…no matter how many butt exercises I do now this fat is not going away…it’s like someone spackled it to my butt and there no remover for it
  • A good nights sleep is now a thing of the past…due to numerous trips to the bathroom at night…really, I swear I didn’t drink that much water before I went to bed
  • Squatting down it not so simple anymore, gravity now causes me to go down like a ton of bricks
  • Once I have squatted down, good luck getting back up with out some assistance…help I have fallen and I can’t get up
  • Everything that makes me happy now also makes me cry…I always end up laughing at how ridiculous my emotions are now
  • I never realized how many pregnant women and babies there are…it’s like I have a special radar for that now
  • All the things my Mom used to do and say, I have started doing and saying…guess Mom did know what she was talking about
  • What’s up with this new walk I have now, um I do believe I have the beginnings of a waddle.
