Last weekend was filled with love.  Both sets of our parents and my brother were in town visiting.  It was Addison’s big weekend.  He was Baptised on 10-10-2010 (pretty cool date for a Baptism or a Birthday).  We were so excited for Addison to be blessed by the priest.  This Baptism was extremely special for the priest as well.  This was his last Baptism as he would be retiring in one week at age 73.

Ryan and I chose my brother Bryant as the Godfather.  My best friend Sarah was chosen as the Godmother.  There was no doubt in either of our minds that each one of them would make the most perfect Godparents. Each one of these individuals have been our go to people in good times and bad times.  They both gave us tremendous strength during Addison’s hospitalization.  I have been so lucky to have grown up with an amazing brother.  He has taught me compassion and the need to help out the underdog.  He has taught me to have a sense of humor even when times get difficult.  Sarah has shown me that you don’t have to know someone your whole life to have them as a best friend, yet I know I have been missing a friend like her my whole life.  From the moment I met her there was an instant friendship.  Sarah has been such an amazing influence on me reaching for the stars and chasing my dreams.  She is a constant force of encouragement and a positive light in my life.  I know that each of these individuals will be an amazing influence on Addison as he grows up.

The Baptism ceremony at the church was wonderful.  We were so happy to have our immediate family there to share in Addison’s special day.  After we departed the church we headed to an afternoon brunch.  This was no quick brunch.  It was filled with hours of laughter and yes, a few cocktails too.

We all retired to our house for the evening.  We sat around eating pizza and enjoying in each others company, while we oohed and ahhed over the ACE man.  This little guy always knows how to bring a smile to everyone’s face.

All in all I can honestly say that I couldn’t have planned a more perfect day if I tried.  It really reminds me what life is all about: friends, family and laughter!
